Art exhibit opening
EASTON — Lisa P. Oswald of Mon-roe will exhibit a collection of her mixed media monotypes in a show titled “The Body Eclectic” that will open Sept. 1 and run through Oct. 18 at the Easton Public Library, 691 Morehouse Road.
An artist’s reception will take place Wednesday Sept. 21 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. The public is invited to the free event.
Oswald’s art uses texture and color to present abstractions of the figure. Many of the images in the exhibit were created in Santa Fe, N.M., and Florence, Italy, during summer study programs in printmaking. Her most recent work displays a modern twist on the figure. Oswald’s work — highly abstracted, somewhat ambiguous and often provocative — consistently blurs the line between how we see ourselves vs. the way others see us.
Her work has been featured in gal-leries in New York and in this area.
The exhibit will be on view during regular library hours: Monday and Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m; Tuesday and Wednesday, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Thurs-day, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.; and Satuday, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. For further details, call the library at 261-0134.
