Let the high school football countdown begin...

    Attention... Attention. ...Attention.

    It's August 7.

Just two weeks until the official start to the 2008 high school football season with the first day of conditioning practice.

Just so you know. We're already hard at work gathering information for the 2008 season. Coaches expect prospectuses in the mail shortly.

In the meantime, feel free to start your comments and shout-outs here. We'll start posting information in due time.

Who are the teams that should start off in the top 10?

Posted by: CTHSFootballFan at August 8, 2008 10:38 AM

My argument for a team no one is placing in their top 10s: Fairfield Prep

They return a bulk of their defense which was spectacular last year. Also will have healthy starters Mark Monaco and Pete Christiani. With these two, Prep looks to have one of the biggest O-lines in the state, returning 3 starters from last year's team. The backfield of Harley Brown and Connor Kelly should do great things with this line, and a QB no one knows about in Brendan Nizolek who has a talented receiving core anchored by Tucker Shanley. I was at Yale camp this year were Prep put a licking to Daniel Hand without much of their starting team (including Nizolek) even being there. I look for prep to do great things this year.
