    Final 2009 Media Hoop Poll

    Our good friends at the New Haven Register have finally seen fit to give the rest of us peons the final poll of 2009.

    No big surprises, even with the usual postseason shakeup. Windsor is No. 1. Crosby 2. Trinity, Stamford and Central all make their appearances in the bottom 5. Stratford falls off after a 20-0 regular season, concluded with losses in both postseason tournaments.

    I enjoyed all of the high school finals this year. Mohegan Sun did a good job hosting this years event and I hope in the future they will continue to host the basketball finals. The Nvl was the best basketball conference with four excellent teams and others who were very competitive.

    Stratford should have been a top-ten team in the final poll. Not only did they have an excellent season-if it wasn't for a poor shooting night against Torrington they could have won the Class L tournament. The defense they played against Torrington big man was perfect. They just couldn't knock down their open threes.
