ARod ... or is it A-Roid?

Wow, some major breaking news this morning …
Add Yankees third baseman Alex Rodriguez to the ever-growing list of major league players that have allegedly used steroids. Sports Illustrated is reporting that Rodriguez tested positive for steroids in his MVP season of 2003. Rodriguez allegedly tested positive for two anabolic steroids, four sources told SI in a story posted earlier this morning on its Web site. His name appears on a list of 104 players who tested positive for performance-enhancing drugs in a 2003 baseball survey, the magazine said. He reportedly tested positive for Primobolan and testosterone while playing for the Texas Rangers.
Can’t wait until the back pages of the NY Post and Daily News start calling him A-Roid.

Locally, I have to admit, I’m a little concerned why this Jonathan Han suspension-thing is taking so long to be resolved. Stags head coach Ed Cooley told the Post’s Bill Paxton on Wednesday that he would have a decision regarding Han’s status before the team left for its Buffalo trip on Thursday. That didn’t happen. In fact, when I text messaged Cooley Thursday, he typed back that a decision on Han wasn’t coming until Monday. What’s going on?
Allegedly before the trip Thursday, Cooley called Han into his office and asked him to sign one of two statements, one saying that Cooley was suspending him for the rest of the season and the other saying Han was leaving the team “for personal reasons.” Han signed neither. I don’t know if this is true but I’ve heard this same story now from three different people. Why would Cooley do this? Why does he need some kind of signed statement? He’s the head coach. He makes the decisions. If you’re going to kick Han off the team, then do it. If you’re going to bring him back, then do it. As well as the team’s been playing without him (three straight wins), they don’t need this black cloud hanging around any more.
