Quinnipiac to the rescue

Cutline: Quinnipiac University President John L. Lahey, left, Hamden Mayor Craig Henrici and Hamden Fire Chief David Berardesca.
Quinnipiac University President John L. Lahey recently announced that the school is donating $75,000 to the town of Hamden to purchase a new fire rescue vehicle.
“Over the years, Quinnipiac has forged a model relationship with both the Hamden fire and police departments that allows us to continue to collaborate to keep all members of the Hamden community as safe as possible,” said Lahey, who made the announcement in front of the TD Banknorth Sports Center at Quinnipiac, where he was joined by Hamden Mayor Craig Henrici and Hamden Fire Chief David Berardesca.
The new state-of-the-art fire rescue vehicle — a 2008 Ford F-550 — is one of three recently purchased by the Hamden Fire Department.
