    Day 14

    On the line
    Phil Noel/Connecticut Post
Striker Bill Sullivan, a 30-year Sikorsky worker from Fairfield, pickets Sunday outside Sikorsky in Stratford. Passing cars are encouraged to honk their horns to support the workers.

Its amazing the pictures the post puts up,
I guess they don't have any balls to show the picketers harassing the employees? Why not show the true colors of the union, a bunch of thugs.

What did Sikorsky do to the Post to warrant such a one sided bias?

No beer drinkers either? Maybe they need to go check the package store parking lot.

I find it disturbing that the employees choose to walk the picket line due to having to absorb incremental increases in healthcare costs. Why don't they take a harder look at what the union leadership spend on themselves before bashing the execs at Sikorsky.

WIthout the right leadership, there would be no Sikorsky. Honestly, when you consider how rising healthcare costs are impacting all Americans, it is almost comical that Union members just expect to be given a free ride on the backs of the company.

Unions are both good and bad. Obviously, they are there for a reason, but when Sikorsky finally does replace these disgruntled mob mentality workers with people who need an want to really work, perhaps they will look back on what they had rather than focus on an issue that each one of us is up against daily.

Nobody gets a free ride. Just look at all of the businesses moving offshore. Use your noodles folks. Get out of the past and get with the times.

over the past 10 years utc workers have assummed a larger share of premiums,"out of pocket" co-pays and increased deductables. as a salary utc
"early retiree" with with a $7500 per yr.health credit, our premiums have risen from $25 per quarter to $643 per month by utc and uncontested by anyone including our ct.political delegation.
thats almost $8000 per year being sent directly to utc to cover health insurance after 35 years of service.certainly not something utc will make public.to retirees on fixed incomes this is devastating to say the least.stand firm we support you....

I wish people would realize. That without a union the educated work force would not be making what they are. For there pay has to be above the working mans pay. So if they get a good contract then you will also get rewarded likewise. A company wants to save whatever way they can. If they stick it to the union they will stick it to everyone in the company
