Hey - I just wanted to say - as a West Haven native - my whole family and I are behind you guys!

I've been on picket lines and I know what it's like, but don't listen to the comments here telling you to give up.

ONE DAY LONGER, ONE DAY STRONGER

Don't give up guys...we will try to win this. If not, then at least we had the balls to walk!!

Posted by: Anonymous at March 8, 2006 11:32 AM

Hey...I have to say this cause this is bothering me.
To all of you that wanna cross the line...Don't!!
I know you "jumpers" have expenses to pay. I know you need medical assistance as well. But so do we including myself. I have a mortgage too and bills also. But I am not gonna cross the line. I have only 14 yrs. here and I don't have millions saved up either. I take each day one at a time. I knew this was coming. I knew about this strike back in October. I saved a little and so on. Big deal...you go back to work for what? Cash!!! You aint gonna be treated fair. You are working without a contract for what?? Cash! Yoy will be branded for life as a scab for what? Cash! This is the only reason for jumpin the line is Cash? grow up!!! No bullshit...I called my electric company (NU) my phone co. (SBC) my cable (Tele Media) and mortgage co. (Ameriquest) and told them my situation. I even sent a copy of the strike info to each of these companies. Anyway, I said "Due to the fact that I am out of work, I can only send the amount I can afford. Once I get back on my feet, I will square it up. Thank you" everyone of these companies said "No problem, I understand, and so on. The point of this story is this....Stop the Bullshit!! You Jumpers (or wannabe jumpers) have no excuse to jump and go back to work. I can live on 232 a week but I have to sacrafice for now. I just have to pay bills. And the same goes for you. Stop worrying. We will eventually go back to work and all this will be a memory. I know people are gonna cry about it but come on..I know its tough but we will make it. Yes...I am Married with 3 kids as well. I know it's hard but we gotta fight. Don't give in today. In 3 years...it might be worse than now. Take a stand. Loose the skirt and think about the future!!! It's rough now but imagine paying 3x what you are paying now in 2009.

I would just like to thank you for your support. It is nice to see this instead of all the slamming we have been getting from the salary employees. Thanks to anyone that has dropped off food and drinks to us. This kind of support is what keeps us strong. Stay strong and united and we WILL WIN !!!!!!!

Posted by: The Man in Black at March 8, 2006 11:56 AM

I am proud to see that NO ONE from 1st, 2nd, or 3rd shift in my area has jumped the line. I am also proud to see that all of these people in Dept. 3100 are standing strong. This is what it means to be United. I know it's only Wednesday and that list can be added with more people but...It has been 17 days and our area is still free of Scabs. Stand strong Paint Shop..We will get through this. We will not Fail!!!!

I am an employee for over 25 years, at first I thought Sikorsky cared about it's work force but today I realize that Sikorsky follow what UTC direct them to do to. Salary people talk a lot of crap about us, but not to be worried watch who's going to be crying when the company force them to pay 60, 80 or 100% of their medical benefit. REMEMBER, SALARY PEOPLE YOU HAVE THE SAME MANAGEMENT AS WE DO EXCEPT WE ARE NOT ALONE, THERE IS A TIME TO MAKE A STAND, WHEN WILL YOU? Some of the salary people, just like the hourly employees, some of you will make a stand, and some of your collegues will stab you. The hourly SCABS that crossed the line are not worth a dime to start with, problably were raised selfish, not willing or just plain stupid. In the morning, I do not get angry at the salary employees, I resent the scabs and higher management. Higher management knows when crunch time is up on us, who will get the work out,it takes guts to do the right thing, and believe me we are doing the right thing. No matter what the outcome, I am in it for the ride, we already made history. Thanks to all the brothers and sisters to stick together for the better or the less. I cannot say the worst, because the worst would be not trying. Mr. David made us stronger, I cannot believe that a man with that kind of education does not realize that in this country we have a lot of unsung heroes that for a cause they will fight, and Mr. David this is a cause that you should join us. Even with your millions, compassion should be in your heart. I'm giving you the benefit of a doubt.

Joe WorkerBee, Do the math! 31/2% just covers the cost of the medical not counting monthly perscriptions that have no cap to them. The letter that SIK put in the paper says we would make over $16,500 in raises over the thr 3 year contract. Who are they kidding. There is no way that a 31/2% raise each year would equal that figure no matter what labor-grade we are. SIK Also stated that it would only cost us $3600 out of pocket over the 3 year contract. Like I said, you do the math. $57 a week, $228 a month, $2736 a year not including the $10 increases over the next 2 years, in my book equals $8208. Tell me how I am loosing when the company is out right lying to the employees and the general public. Like I said before, HAVE A NICE DAY !!!

People, In 4 weeks of being out on the line... Loss of $2000 signing bonus, at least $1000 per week... are you counting?? OT how much now? Still worth it? Many of you just dont get it. And as far as jumpers, You have all "Jumped" on your familys and community and tried to justify you actions in very self centered ways. Most of you have probably never fallen on tough times before. Really tough times. you are all cop outs. Get real. Get back to work. Even a dog knows not to crap where it eats.

What's up with the blog site. Is it shut down?

As the wife of one of the original 8 "Hall of Shamers" I would just like to say that I have never been as proud of my husband as I am right now! He has had the courage and dignity to do what he believes is right for his family, and has not backed down to intimidation or fear. He has done what so many of you want so badly to do. He has crossed the line, even though he knows that alot of his so-called "friends", people that he has worked with for 20 or more years, will never speak to him again. He is also smart enough to know that he is working for a great company, one who has always been good to him, and his sense of loyalty would not allow him to just walk away because everyone else did. In my eyes, and the eyes of his children, he is a hero!!!

Crybabies grow up and get real, it's over. Stratford residents already hate you for what you've done to the town budget and noise and traffic. Good jobs are gonna be leaving the state forever. IT'S OVER! Go to work!

Dear Brothers and Sisters of Teamsters Local 1150,
Our local and many small locals like us applaude you and your courage to stand up against the Health Care tidal wave that is devastating the working class of this country. You my brothers and sisters are bringing to light at a national level the greed of corporations as they pad their pockets at our expense. I pray that the sacrifice you and your families are enduring will finallly prompt a reform in the health care system and place the burden of doing business on those who profit the most. NOT THE WORKERS WHO CARRY THE LOAD !!!!!
