Extreme Makeover
In case you been under a rock the last couple weeks, the TV crew from Extreme Makeover: Home Edition was on Hollester Avenue on Bridgeport's lower East End.
They were there to completely rebuild a house from the foundation up, in about 10 days. Yep, they poured the foundation, too.
Here are some photos from the scene; these were taken last Sunday (July 29, 2007). No day of rest for this crew!

This is what Hollister Ave. looks like; that's McKinley School on the left.

Everyone tries to get a look at Paige Hemmis, one of the Makeover's design team members.

Paige by the fence.

With a young fan.

I ask you, have you ever seen a clean crane at a construction site? Well, here's one.

Even the dump truck looked nice! Mike Gulick is the volunteer contractor for the job, who's building the house with a volunteer crew. Kind of like Habitat for Humanity on steroids. A house like this would normally take the better part of a year to build. Gulick said the all the materials were donated, too.

Here's the tent with the T-shirts.
