    N&F Gala 2008

The 2008 Near & Far Aid Association's annual gala took place at Mitchell's last night (on Fri. Mar. 7), and it was the best one ever.

I don't know how well they did in the money department, but I don't think that's terribly important. The party took in about a $1 million last year, but that was before everything got flushed down the old commode. So, even if they didn't do quite as well (and they might have done better for all I know), everyone had a fantastic time.

The school buses were a nice touch, especially since it was pouring buckets. There was plenty to eat, too.

I'll find out more in the next couple of weeks.

Anyway, here are some pictures of the event.

There was plenty of food. Here's the sushi bar. That big guy on the far right was making sure no one double-dipped in the soy sauce.

Lisa Neumyer of Stamford and Tom Towers of Southport.

Here's Karen Mitchell of Weston, Marji Kaplowitz of Westport, and Lorin Blitzer of Weston.

This NYG helmet was sighed by Eli himself. It went for some serious coin. For the record, I haven't seen it on eBay yet.

Here are neighbors Shari Weinstein and Elizabeth Pocsik of Weston.

    IMG_2977.jpg
Donna Craft, again, here with Lynn Taikowski and Donna Twist, both of Fairfield.

Here are board of directors member Beth Hayes of Westport, associate board member Laura Wilbur of   Southport, Near and Far Aid President Elizabeth Fath of Fairfield and associate board member Cynthia Rubin of Southport.

There was a runway show, too.
