    Bustin' Chops

Please welcome the Iowa Pork Chops. Oh, just "Chops"? Sorry. New Web site. Motto suggestion: "Two minutes for slashing."

Jay Leach is up on the New Jersey roster; nice pickup. Atlanta has signed Junior Lessard, Grant Stevenson and former Husky Mike Hoffman.

In addition to the Ray Emery exile, Steve Zipay caught that Bryce Lampman is off to Khabarovsk.

This is pretty neat: The Phantoms are running "Language Lessons" on their Web site, beginning with Oskars Bartulis' Latvian. Among the words and phrases included: "hockey," "goal," "what time is it," and more useful stuff like "May I have a cheesesteak with onions," "I would like to order a cold beer," and "that was a bad call." Nice idea.

    Get well, Bob Sheppard.

of course the islanders wouldn't sign lessard or stevenson, why? because they HAVE NHL EXPERIENCE! instead they choose to sign players coming off of career years that they'll never duplicate again (Mclean and Skinner)

The Phantoms should add the infamous line: "Koharski, you're terrible!" to the list of language lessons with a link to buy the tee shirt as well.

I like Iowa's new name. Very different. I'm sure they can have some cool themes. Applause for Applesauce night (tm) ha

Will they throw chops on the ice instead of octopi and Alberta beef?

Instead of a small chili like the Port , The Iowa chops will give away sporks every time there home team scores 2 goals.
You may have to wait a couple of periods before you can dig into your applesauce but hey its worth it.
