Yippee!
Just a belated note to express my joy at Kyra Sedgwick FINALLY winning an award (a Golden Globe) for her peerless performance on TNT's "The Closer." She truly deserves the recognition for her smart, funny, engrossing work, particularly considering her long history in the industry.
Let's hope the Emmys follow suit.
However, I have one Globe bone to pick. How on earth did the Hollywood Foreign Press Association pick Hugh Laurie over Michael C. Hall for best dramatic TV actor? Yes, I know Laurie's good on "House," but Hall is positively transcendent as serial killer Dexter Morgan on Showtime's "Dexter." And that show is the year's sleeper hit. Everyone I know who's seen the show is as in love with it as I am, and that's due in large part to Hall. Just as I hope the Emmys recognize Sedgwick, I hope they also shower the appropriate kudos on Hall.
