My letter, in case you're interested
For those who are interested, here is the letter I wrote to NBC, requesting the cancellation of "The Apprentice" due to the results of the Cancel One Show poll.
Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment
NBC
30 Rockefeller Plaza
New York, NY 10112
Mr. Reilly:
I am writing you on behalf of the readership of the Connecticut Post
newspaper in Bridgeport, Conn. to request the cancellation of “The
Apprentice.” I am the newspaper’s television critic, and I recently
ran an online poll asking readers which of 10 television shows they
would like to see canceled. When the poll began, I promised readers I
would write the network of the show receiving the most votes, and ask
for said show’s cancellation.
Out of the 2,121 votes cast in the poll, 886 were in favor of
canceling “The Apprentice.” The show received 40 percent of the vote,
finishing far ahead of any other show. It also never moved out of the
lead position during the nearly two weeks that we ran the poll.
Because of this, I am writing to request that you take “The
Apprentice” off the air.
The Connecticut Post serves more than 75,000 readers in Fairfield and
New Haven counties in Connecticut. I hope you will take this request
into consideration.
Regards,
