Parts of the Emmys that are actually funny
Can I say that my favorite awards given out on Emmy award are invariably for writing on a variety show? I love the clever segments each show picks to air while the names of their writing team is announced.
Everything from the writers of "The Colbert Report" getting slapped, to the cheeky (yes, that is a pun) take on a certain recent event involving a lawmaker and a restroom stall that accompanied the reading of the "Real Time with Bill Maher" nominees.
Well, the team from Conan won. I didn't catch the name of the guy giving the acceptance speech, but he did have a great line:
"I do have a speech because Katherine Heigl's mother said we would win."
